It’s a technology that’s been backed by the Prime Minister and one that has slashed energy prices in the United States. But the last few weeks have seen hundreds of protesters gathering at the small Susssex village of Balcombe to express their anger at exploratory plans to begin fracking there. They say this method of extracting gas can release greenhouse gases and could contaminate water supplies. Hywel Davies went to meet some of them to hear what they had to say.
